About

Najwa
Najwa Alghabban

The town of Babylon was located along the Euphrates River in present-day Iraq, about 50 miles south of Baghdad, where American Middle Eastern Artist Najwa Alghabban was raised.

There she graduated with Honors, obtaining a Master’s degree in Accounting and Administration, and then she became a certified public accountant.

During her career in Dubai, she often longed to hike amongst trees, mountains and water.  In 2012 she made that a reality by immigrating to the United States.

She now resides in Beaverton, Oregon where she enjoys the hiking and camping she dreamed of.

Having that connection to the earth through wood and stone, and wanting to convey emotion through a subject with a heartbeat is the inspiration behind much of her art.

Her work includes three distinct styles: acrylic and oil on canvas, wood burning and sculpturing of plywood, and acrylic paint on glass emulating stained glass and polished marble.

It is Najwa’s belief that looking into the eyes of an animal and connecting with their spirit can both calm and heal.

Her work is suited for display in private collections, but her dream is to see them in public buildings such as hospitals or courts to provide respite in stressful spaces.
